Synchronis Client for GroupWise

Have you wanted the ability to schedule users for appointments, tasks or notes from your handheld?
Have you wanted to view your GroupWise folders on your handheld? Have you wanted to retract mail messages created from your handheld? Look no further. The Synchronis Client for GroupWise combines mail, appointments, tasks, and notes into one robust application. Sound familiar? Many of the same menus, dialogs, and messages are exactly the same as they are in the GroupWise Windows client. This was intentional. Why spend time having to learn a new way to do things when you are already familiar with GroupWise?
The Synchronis client was modeled after the GroupWise remote concept. When the remote client is disconnected, the messages that are read, created, deleted, etc. on the remote mailbox are
queued up waiting for the next synchronization with the main mailbox.
When the remote client connects, the remote changes are transferred to the main mailbox, and any changes from the main mailbox are transferred to the remote mailbox. All you have to do is replace “remote” with “handheld” and you have described how Synchronis works. All of our developers worked for Novell with GroupWise - We know how GroupWise works.

Synchronization is performed using the HotSync Manager and the GroupWise Transfer Agent.
You can sync using a cradle or over a network as long you can see the IP Address of the workstation you have HotSync and Synchronis installed on.

GroupWise Transfer Agent

The GroupWise Transfer Agent synchronizes data between your GroupWise mailbox and the Synchronis Client for GroupWise.
You can select mail, appointment, task, or note item types, select received, sent, or posted source types, and select certain folders. You can specify only items within a date range, and if you have Nexic Symphony, you can specify items that are categorized with any Nexic Category.
Attributes are also transferred in both directions. If you open an item on the handheld, it shows opened in the GroupWise mailbox. If you delete and item on the handheld, you have the
option to retract it as well. Then when the GroupWise transfer Agent syncs the databases, the item will be retracted.

Address Transfer Agent

No more duplicate records!
The Address Transfer Agent synchronizes data between your GroupWise system or personal address books and the Palm OS Address application. You can map an address book to a Address category on the handheld, or you can select a specific list of addresses from any GroupWise address book and only sync those addresses. You no longer have to try and define a formula to get the addresses you want. Just select them from the Address Book! You can also map the fields you want to transfer. If for some reason you have duplicate records on your handheld, the Address Transfer Agent will automatically remove the duplicates so you won’t have to.
