Nexic Symphony is a client plugin that contains numerous enhancements to the GroupWise 5.5 through 6.0 clients. Even though we add many of the Microsoft
Outlook features to GroupWise, rest assured our solution does not use the Microsoft Visual Basic scripting engine, which makes viruses so common.
You don’t have to manage and run Visual Basic scripting code to get the features you want - code that can be slow or possibly expose GroupWise to new viruses or many of the Outlook viruses. Symphony is a complete and secure package of features. Below are some of the features of Nexic Symphony. Many of the features can be turned off or removed if they are not needed.

|
New user interface features added to the GroupWise client. A new shortcut bar and Internet Explorer are integrated into the GroupWise client

Contact Management integrated into the GroupWise client. Contact records are stored in GroupWise and are available where ever GroupWise messages are available (WebAccess, Cell phones, etc.). Contacts can be imported from the GroupWise address book, Outlook 2000, and ContactWise 2000.

Create reminder messages that are automatically delivered to your account at a future date.

Rule wizards easily create common rules. No more accidentally sending a message to the whole company when you go on vacation. Rules can reply to all users, just a certain list of users, or it can reply all users except a certain list of users (i.e. news groups).

like the good old days. Macro commands can be easily tested within the Nexic Macro Facility program to validate whether the macro command works in the GroupWise 5 or 6 client.

Templates: Create mail, note, task, or appointment message templates that can be repeatedly used with little or no modification.
|
|
|
|
Categorization of messages: You can manually add a category to any message. Categories can be used in
various Nexic products to limit output based upon certain categories.
|
|
|
|
Add notes to any message. The existing GroupWise client search functionality can easily search for text in the Nexic Note field.
|
|
|
|
Quickly move messages to a folder just by right mouse clicking on the messages. You don't have to drag it to the folder, especially if the folder is
collapsed and several levels deep.

|
|
You can send a message with an alternate identity in the From field. Useful when you are required to send messages as a generic user name (i.e. “Human Resources”).
|
|
|
|
Automatically backup new message. A backup file for the active message can automatically be created, then restored if GroupWise locks up. Restarting the client prompts you to delete or restore the backup file and continue where you left off.

Notes:

1. Only GroupWise 5/6 macro commands are currently supported. Variables and conditional statements are not available
yet. Some 4.1a macro commands are not available in 5/6.

2. Message is still sent from the user’s account as the user, but the text in the from field displays the “identity” text.
Feature is not available for messages sent outside the GroupWise system.
